things i find funniest: “brown humor.” dads. inappropriate behavior that embarrasses my mom. men’s relationships with each other. old, stupid products and the media that goes with them. people who think they are really cool but who are extremely ridiculous in real life, i.e. these men: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd5a7w-nY6g or this idiot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLRK-XP_GLE . also interior designers with horrible taste are pretty funny. in fact, sometime i wish i was an interior designer with horrible taste. then my room would be hilarious. horrible taste in general is funny though. my dad has pretty good taste these days, but he’ll occasionally wear something really stupid and i’ll secretly love it. 

things i don’t find funny: most topical humor. all topical humor? i don’t know… it’s all pretty worthless. it’s just so cool when humor can last through the ages and it’s not all based on what’s happening with the kardashians or whoever. like with ‘the state’ i love how most of it is not really a reference to stuff going on in the mid 90s. the feel of the production speaks for itself. mtv tried to make them do more topical stuff and their attempts were pretty funny, like the dan cortez stuff. but, it also seemed so forced. it’s really hard to explain my humor or even pinpoint what it is. i was listening to the sound of young america yesterday and ian roberts and matt walsh were talking about improv and explaining that in life, all human beings are trying their best to keep it together and do well for themselves. almost no one is purposefully  going out there and fucking up (they were making this point to explain how you should react to your scene partner or situations in scenes or something). and that just breaks my heart/makes me laugh that people are genuinely going through life and making bad decisions without knowing it. breaking my heart and making me laugh go hand in hand… is that fucked up?

And Dan Klein is a guy who is definitely an idiot. He is also a comedic genius and someone I agree with on many levels. I especially agree with that butt of his. AM I RIGHT?
